Chamber Board Passes Resolution

in Support of Lakeside Beach Club

Benton Harbor, MI Tuesday, February 24, 2009The Board of Directors of the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce has adopted a resolution of support for the Lakeside Beach Club Development in Lincoln Charter Township and urges Township residents to support the project in the upcoming May 5, 2009 referendum.

The Chamber cited the nearly quarter-million dollar investment in Michigan’s Great Southwest as a major boost to the economic well-being of the entire community.

Board Chair Lynne Christiano said, “Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce has been an outspoken supporter of the Harbor Shores project, and we felt that the Lakeside Beach Club project can easily have great impact for the region as well.”  She added, “We are hopeful that the residents of Lincoln Charter Township will vote to exhibit their support of continuing growth and advancement of worthy projects such as Lakeside.”

Chamber Executive Vice President Pat Moody noted, “The size of this project has the potential to positively impact many of our Chamber Members when new homes go in, tourism increases, and local residents obtain new jobs as a result.”  He added, “To turn down such a project would send the wrong message to all other developers who are considering projects all along the Lake Michigan shoreline. That’s something we can’t afford to see as a community.”

Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization encouraging the growth of business through networking, advocacy, visibility and benefits for all of our members.

A copy of the resolution is shared below.
