Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce members are invited to submit nominations for the organization's annual business recognition ceremony coming in February of 2007.

"Our Champions of Commerce award process is one of the most rewarding events of the year," said Executive Vice President Pat Moody.  "We strongly encourage self-nominations, because nobody knows a business entity like the people who run it every day." 

Awards are determine annually in a number of categories, starting with Stake Awards that recognize company growth through a series of metrics including investments in capital acquisitions, building expansions, new hiring and the like.  Additional awards recognize Entrepreneurs of the Year in both the Industrial and Commercial Sectors of our economy, the Large Business of the Year, and our Ambassadors Excellence in Customer Service Award.  The Customer Service award is the only one where self-nominations are prohibited, since service excellence rightfully is in the eye of the customer.

Other award categories include the Merlin B. Hanson Challenge Award designed to recognize companies that have gone through extremely difficult times and survived unusual rigors, and awards that are determine by staff members for special recognition.
